FLYING

Matthew 16:24 - Anyone that intends to come with me has to let me lead.  You are not in the drivers seat, I am.

Recently I read a statistic, how how many people would rather drive somewhere verses those that would chose to fly.  Overwhelmingly it was a high percentage that chose to drive themselves.  When asked why, everyone said they felt they were in control of the situation.  Today's insight verse tells us if we want to succeed, we need to let Jesus be in the drivers seat.  We may not agree, however it is a key to a lot less life stress.  We want to be in control.  We know God says such and such, however like little children we say, but I want this instead.  

Each morning when we get up, we have a decision to make, who is going to be in charge today.  Who is going to call the shots, me or God?  If we chose to be the manager of our own lives, it more than likely causes confusion, stress, bad decisions and yes stress.

Today's insight verse clearly tells us when we ask Christ into our lives as Savior, he need to be driving, not us.  This is what many of us do, if we were honest, we give him the drivers seat, but hop out back in the seat, and tend to be a back seat driver.  We kind of give him a little of our two cents, "here turn left, not right, stop here, no go faster, wait, hang on I want to go that way not this way, I want to see that not this."  

Have you ever taken dancing lessons?  One of the biggest problems you will learn is learning how to let the other lead.  When you both try to lead, you end up stepping on each others feet, and at times ending up falling over because of lack of coordination.

That is exactly the way it is when we try to drive the car, fly the plane or at that simply try to help God by being manager.  

Instead, how about once and for all we let God lead and be manager.  The results will be nothing short of amazing. 

On that note, is Jesus Lord?  Do you know Him as Personal Savior?  If not you can today, and also if you do know Him, but really have not let Him manage I would also like to pray with you about that.
